She obtained her DVM in 2009, option pig, poultry and rabbit at the faculty of veterinary medicine, Ghent University. Between 2009 and 2013, she performed research at the Unit of Porcine Health Management and the Unit of Technology and Nutrition of the ILVO on the detection, importance, and risk factors for locomotion problems in sows in group housing systems. In 2013 she obtained her PhD and since then she has worked as a post-doc researcher at ILVO. Since 2015, she works for Belpork vzw, the organization responsible for the BePork and Meesterlyck quality schemes.
