Gert van Trierum attended Aeres University of Applied Sciences in Dronten and completed his studies in 1984 with a thesis entitled “The best and economical way of fattening male kids”.
After university, Gert began his professional career with Denkavit as Chef of the research station with 2,000 fattening and rearing calves and was responsible for the planning, implementation and dissemination of practical research trials with calves, kids, lambs.
After 6 years he moved to the Information department and was particularly involved in nutritional education and husbandry, with a focus on calves, goats, buffalo’s and lambs.
Furthermore, Gert became a key member of the R&D team and is instrumental in the direction of research with young ruminants. Over more than two decades Gert has been responsible for Global Product Development and Management of milk replacers for young ruminants and specialty products inside the Denkavit Group, for both the Denkamilk and Private label business units.
He is also active with relevant collaborations in academia and research institutes both at home and abroad, as well as interpreting practical research projects.
Besides het is specialized in analyzing calf, lamb and kid rearing in big dairy, sheep and goat farms.
