Bovine endometritis symposium
Beschrijving
Het Bovine endometritis symposium brengt internationale experten samen voor een inspirerende dag rond de nieuwste inzichten in baarmoedergezondheid bij runderen. Het programma combineert wetenschappelijke updates met praktische toepassingen, van diagnostiek (zoals vaginale uitvloei en echografie) tot behandelstrategieën, inclusief de rol van antibiotica en alternatieven.
Naast lezingen is er ruime aandacht voor interactie en hands-on training in endometriale cytologie en echografische casusinterpretatie.
De dag wordt afgesloten met netwerkmogelijkheden in een informele sfeer met Belgische bieren.
Daarna is iedereen welkom bij de publieke doctoraatsverdediging van Lei Xie ‘Caught in the metabolic NET: Neutrophil dysfunction and endometrial health in transition dairy cows.’

10.30-11.15: Kieran Meade (UCD, Ierland): New insights in the health effects of supplementing transition dairy cows with Vit D.
11.15-12.00: Caio Figueiredo (WSU, VS): What can the aspect of the vaginal discharge tell practitioners about uterine health and disease in dairy cows (online session).
12.00-12.30: Lunch met broodjes
12.30-13.15: Giovanni Gnemmi (Bovinevet - Spanje): The use of ultrasound in the diagnosis of uterine diseases in cattle (online session).
13.15-14.00: Uxia Yanez Ramil (Spanje): Novel approaches for uterine health diagnosis in dairy cows.
14.00-14.45: Osvaldo Bogado Pascottini (UCD, Ierland): Antibiotic vs non antibiotic therapies for uterine diseases in dairy cows.
14.45-15.00: Discussie-panel
15.00-15.30: Koffie-pauze
15.30-17.00: Praktische sessie:
- Osvaldo Bogado Pascottini en Milena Krupa: Endometrial cytology and surrogate tests for subclinical endometritis (practical session preparing an endometrial smear using the cytobrush using slaughterhouse material).
- Giovanni Gnemmi en Uxia Yanez Ramil: Discussing ultrasound images and films (including Doppler) related to the diagnosis of uterine disease in dairy cows (online session).
17.00-17.30: Receptie met Belgisch bier
17.30-19.00: Openbare doctoraatsverdediging van Lei Xie: ‘Caught in the metabolic NET: Neutrophil dysfunction and endometrial health in transition dairy cows.’
